Feeling distant from everything. This is a known side effect of trying to get in touch with new people, especially in this city. It's still kind of alienating. And it comes on top of some other stuff that's sloshing around in my head.

Y'all still like me, right?

(And here I thought I was the only one who still felt that way sometimes, decades after high school. Plus the even more insidious variant, "Nobody here actually likes me, they just put up with me because I'm with [Other Person.]")

Oh jeez, that one is THE WORST. It's pretty resistant to my normal means of attack, too. I try to get past it by actually talking to people, but that requires a lot of social energy output.
