I have a vague desire to drown myself in television. Which of these, o lazyweb, would you recommend? (ETA: I've seen none of these except the BSG pilot)

• Something else entirely

(No poll because I'm more interested in the Whys.)

Not that this will be happening anytime soon: the next four months or so are kinda busy. But once we get settled I may do something like 'i made my wordcount for the week so i get another episode of X.'

I will add to the recommendations for Avatar- I own it through amazon, so I could even give you one of my allotted downloads if you want the full series. It is wonderful.

oh, thank you! I may take you up on that. Although I'm not entirely sold on digital downloads. We watched _Despicable Me_ a few weeks ago and a) the picture quality was not so great and b) I haven't yet found a good way to watch things on the computer (laptop screen is fine for just me but not so good for multiple people; computer monitor is not positioned for comfort unless you're in the desk chair; haven't gotten around to getting a laptop-to-TV connector). And I may decide that if it's that good it's something I want to own.

Well if you have a good connection, I could also just come over, log in, and we watch it streaming from amazon and you decide if you want to download. Try it before you commit, as it were.

ooh. This is also a very good idea. (Probably one for sometime in March, as time before that is limited.) And it has the added bonus of getting to hang out with you. I shall run it by the Scheduling Committee and work out when we can do this thing!
