Life's been so good to me...

It has, though, and most of the time it's easy to remember that. Being depressed or burnt-out or lonely or just sad (things which, to be clear, right now I mostly am not) doesn't make me unaware that I've got the luxury of feeling those things.

A roof overhead, food in the pantry, a snoring cat, people who love me. That last most of all, even though (or, more likely, because) it's hardest to believe. Books and tea and games and music, hot showers and fuzzy slippers and hemp ropes and silk shirts. Therapy, and learning how to want things and to believe it's safe to express that. A midlife career change that might even leave me not completely sunk.

I'm glad you're here with me, too.
