cold be hand and heart and bone
Nov. 22nd, 2013 09:36 pmThe weather's been bright and clear, which is mostly better than grey and cloudy. I say 'mostly' because the cloud cover holds in the warmth, so it's also been down around freezing for much of this week. Means I get to break out my nice wool coat, anyway.
Had people over for games on Satyrday again. Having it on the heels of gaming in DC helped clarify the ways it's not (yet?) how I want it to be: I spend more time hosting and less playing than I want, which also means I don't really get to dive into a longer, low-player-count game. Not entirely sure what to do about it either, other than keep inviting people over and trying to cultivate more serious boardgamers.
Been meaning to write about cats, since they're doing well. Better than just 'well,' really. We've started feeding them half a can of wet food to supplement the 'all the cat crunchies they can eat' diet, and the change has been impressive. They're no longer projectile shedders, for one thing. And I have seen Chaos running around and playing with toys, something he hasn't done since ... ever, really, he's always been a lazy beast. He's still having trouble jumping/climbing onto the couch; I can't tell if he's actually in pain, or if he just doesn't like not being able to get a grip on the squishy cushion. (He'll jump up on the ottoman, which has a solid place to stand, but he's tentative about that as well.) Still, heightened activity levels are good to see.
Me? I dunno. I don't think this winter will be as bad as last.

Date: 2013-11-23 04:11 pm (UTC)We added about the same amount of wet cat food to our cats' diet a while back, and it definitely paid off in glossier fur for the one who tends to get into neurotic overgrooming.
Which reminds me, I need to go feed them before they start picketing my desk....
