I need to keep a more specific log, because I'm struggling and feeling that I'm not making progress. The runner's magazine I normally pick up has some tips about the kind of stuff to put in a log: terrain, how you felt, temperature, how much you had to drink, what you've eaten, any injuries, distance and, if you know it, speed. That might be a liiiittle too much detail for me to be bothered with, but it might help if I noted down some of that...

Anything I couldn't do right the first time was a source of scorn: come on, you're smarter than that, etc.

I really feel that. I have trouble in the gym or when I see other runners (apart from my running partner) because I'm "not as good". After I ran my 5k in 38 minutes (so proud), I've had to go back to an earlier week because I've overtrained and just worn myself out totally. I've got a 10k race in September and there's no way I can run it all. *head in hands*

...Uh, sorry about the babble. Possibly I should go post on [community profile] runners asking for help with my endurance issues!

Stiiiill need to read The Dragon Waiting. In fact, it's right there. Waiting. On my shelf. Maybe... *eyes it*
