jazzfish: A small grey Totoro, turning around. (Totoro)
[personal profile] jazzfish
Some people give themselves treats for Xmas. Me, I give myself a list of things to do. The idea is that a) a concrete and wide-ranging list of 101 items, b) a not terribly restrictive but still somewhat limiting timeframe of 1001 days, and c) public accountability can all combine to form a sort of Voltron of extrinsic motivating factors, since I'm not doing so hot with intrinsic motivation lately (or ever, really).

Note that 101 tasks in 1001 days works out to roughly three tasks per month, on average.

One, you only have thirteen unplayed games? And two, you want to neither play nor purge Italia? Huh?

71) Dispose of unwanted games.

So... You can mail boxes from the US, right? :)

95) Get myself some sort of author website.

So an actually helpful comment: I helped Cassie set hers up and I'd be happy to do the same thing for you. It's a Wordpress site that she's customized the theme of. I can give you an ssh / ftp account, etc.

Diceland: it unfortunately has a very low fun-to-storage-hassle ratio. :) I was more interested in the comics, and I'd be happy to pay you something for them once you decide what you'd like to get rid of.

I'm reading Hellblazer now (scanned, since I don't think they ever actually collected it, did they?). After some experiments to see if it caused nightmares (no correlation, either with that or reasonably-violent games) I've been reading it a lot lately.

I'm a little after #50. I had no idea the series has been going on all this time. I thought it was 200 issues (still massive!) and then it ended.

I would like 100 Bullets maybe. I never finished it, I'd like to read it again.

Oh, I love these lists. The way you've organised yours is really sensible, too! Good luck!

oh, very nice. I like the accountability inherent in #100. :)

My to-do lists this year are probably going to remain pretty short-term, given the unpredictability of the near future...

That's a really nicely organized list! ^_^ I think that I need to do something similar, because I seem to get so much more accomplished when I make detailed lists.
