(In my experience, upwards of 90% of games are won by the player who draws more of the 8s, 9s, and 10s.) The iOS app, however, is very well programmed & designed, and is a decent way to kill a few minutes at a time.
Earlier today in a fit of something (boredom, maybe) I clicked the "About" button in the app. Listed under "Software Design," "Interface Design," and "Graphical Design" is a name that's unique (and long) enough that I will likely never forget it: game designer Marcel-André Casasola Merkle.
Always interesting to see where people end up. In a just world we'd soon be seeing ports of Attika or Taluva. In practice we're more likely to keep getting low-end Knizias, because the good Doctor was canny enough to get his name associated with "decent iOS boardgame ports" early on.
Oh well.
