_Issola_ is damned good. Much, much better than _Athyra_. Back to the first-person perspective, which is nice.
Chapter two is a lot of exposition, which is normally kind of lame, except that it starts to clear up some of the Big Mysteries, like the Jenoine, the Serioli, the Seventeen Great Weapons, and a bit on gods. There is almost as much here as there has been in the previous eight books. Kind of neat.
It'll be interesting to see if Vlad figures out what's up with Spellbreaker... or, as the Serioli refer to ir, "Remover-of-aspects-of-deity."
