1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

From [livejournal.com profile] fishy1:
1) when did you discover polyamory?

As a concept? I don't even remember. Probably sometime after I started college, almost certainly by the end of my second year at Tech.

As applicable to me? Late in the evening of November 25, 2005. I'd been kicking the idea around for about three months before my Moment of Clarity.

2) which traditional family holiday do you dislike the most?

Christmas for sheer volume of bad memories. Thanksgiving is a close second, since it has the poor taste to interfere with my birthday on occasion.

3) which is least attractive to you on other people; dyed hair, piercings (other than ear) or tattoos?

Hm. Dyed hair doesn't really bother me, and neither do tasteful piercings or tattoos. But it's a lot easier to have too much metal than too much ink. I guess that means "piercings."

4) have you considered body modification of any kind for yourself?

Every so often I think about getting a Jazz Fish tattoo.

5) if you were to go stark, raving, irrevocably mad, which form of insanity would you prefer?

Blergh. The kind where I have no clue as to my actual surroundings. I spent about half an hour in a military psych ward as a teenager, and that cured me of any desire to experience madness.

1) How's living in DC?
I love our house. I love being so close to work. And I hate the fact that east of the river is so APPALLINGLY underserved. Do you know there is only ONE sit-down restaurant in all of Ward 7 (my Ward) and it's a Denny's? Many major retailers don't have stores east of the river and some top it off by not even offering sites within the beltway in P.G. County. It's really sad and frustrating.

2) What happens when we die?
Our family and friends mourn and eventually, hopefully, celebrate our lives and the good we brought into the world, in our own little ways.
I'm reading a series right now that involves a very complicated afterlife of different ghost realms and angels and I would love for it to be true. I would love for our spirits to achieve peace while offering remenants of support to ease the pain for those still here. I can always hope, I guess.

3) What's the best book you've read lately?
I really enjoy Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld Series - last one I read was HAUNTED. Good stuff.

4) Do you miss high school?
Yes. It used to be a definite longing, but now it's more a general feeling. The Rudes really fill a niche that hasn't been filled since Troupe in high school.

5) What would you rather be doing?
Right now, I'd rather being floating down the Shenandoah River on an inner tube. and if that weather is prohibitive, I would love to be snuggled up in front of a warm fire, reading a good book or working on writing my own. But instead I must go run a meeting!
