Words are inadequate

Ah, the iPod hack. Look up how to show hidden files on whatever OS you're using, and then skim through the "I didn't know those were there" folders on the 'Pod. Last time I did it, the folders were numbered sequentially, and there were about fifty of them, with a handful of songs in each. I didn't detect any rhyme or reason to why which songs were in which folders, but they were there with their titles as their filenames.
