Lisa wrote me shortly before I left saying that the grade change for Design lab had gone through. Tech has had a "transcript hold pending grade change" on my account since the twenty-second of December. Attempts to sort this out via phoning the registrar's office have resulted in "The person who can handle that is out of the office, call back tomorrow maybe?"

Argh. I really just want this to be over and done with.

And Ross is leaving for the Great White North on Satyrday, but that's sort of balanced out by the (re)arrival of Stephen and Shondra. And I still haven't managed to get my car fixed (the Saturn dealer in Gaithersburg ordered the wrong part; here's hoping the one in Roanoke is more competent). Also, hack cough wheeze.

Other than that, though, I can't really complain. I got to spend Xmas with a bunch of really excellent people, and I'm no longer afraid of not finding a job. Life goes on.

Honestly the best way to get anything out of the Registrar's office (or the Bursar's office, for that matter) is to go down there and camp out on their doorstep. That person who can't do what you need them to tends to magically appear or someone else who can do the same thing turns up. I know at least for the Bursar's office, it's not a one-person-one-function kind of office. Someone there sould be able to help you, you just have to make yourself more present than a voice on the other end of the phone line that they can blow off.

Oh, and don't EVER, EVER, EVER let them promise to call you back. They never do.
