I've been sort of halfheartedly tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sir_alf for the "name ten celebrities you find attractive, and then tag five people" meme. This is an interesting experience.

"Attractive" is somewhere above "good-looking" and below "would jump in a heartbeat," since that's far more about presentation and less about individual taste. It's more a "Yum," encompassing looks, movement, voice, what little I know of personality . . .

Emily Watson
"I do have a mind of me own, Danny. I know very well I might be losing it . . ." An extraordinarily cute woman.

Claire Forlani
My first honest-to-gob celebrity crush, and the one with the least justification. She was cute as Mason's daughter in The Rock and pretty good as Jean-Michel's girlfriend in Basquiat. Since then I've not been too impressed by any of her movies. (Though I still haven't seen The Medallion with Jackie Chan.)

Dylan McDermott
It's the eyes. And, to a lesser extent, the voice.

Gina Torres
Zoe in Firefly. Yum indeed.

Michael Steele
The only Bangle to have aged unquestionably well.

Lucy Liu
Unsure whether this is 'coolness' overriding 'attractive,' but whatever.

Jennifer Connelly
Okay, I lied. Labyrinth probably led to my first-ever celebrity crush.

Christian Bale
He does good work and he's fun to watch.

. . . and, uh, then I sort of run out of steam. Everyone else I can think of either gets a "Yeah, kinda cute" or, like Emma Thompson, transcends such categories as "attractive."

And for tagging purposes: [livejournal.com profile] badmagic, [livejournal.com profile] idoru, [livejournal.com profile] jonny_law, [livejournal.com profile] kateyvic, [livejournal.com profile] ndkid. That seems like a representative cross-sampling of people I know. And also you, if you feel like it.

Edit: the lovely [livejournal.com profile] pictsy reminds me that I've left off Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, who was bloody gorgeous in Gormenghast.

Going to Origins tomorrow, will try to post at least once from there. Possibly even including a "what the heck I've been up to" update.

Jeeze, I'm about the most celebrity-impaired person I know...they're all attractive, it's part of their job, but because of that, their features blend in my mind into some sort of pretty sameness.

There aren't that many who stick out, for me: Maggie Gyllenthal (Yeah, I'm a great big perv,) Jennifer Gray (the pre-nose job version,) Halle Barry (though I've heard she's a pain to work with,) Nina Hartley (just because she's the only one I've met, if briefly. Older, but still hot.)
