markush and uilos for being there all day to help move. ["All day" being defined as from roughly eleven to 3:30.] Big thanks as well to jedibfa and Shawn for the use of their trucks, and to lizthefair and ndkid for their help with boxes and furniture for a few hours.
Woke up at 8:30 and got my room ready to receive the impending boxes and furniture. Went over to the townhouse at ten, finished scooting stuff around so that it wasn't in the way of moving. Got that done by 10:45 and, withuilos, started hauling boxes into cars. markush showed up at eleven and helped haul. Once our two cars were packed full, we collapsed for a few minutes and waited for jedibfa and his truck. He arrived ~11:45 with lizthefair in tow. Managed to fit the dresser and all three bookcases into his truck, which relieved an awful lot of my worries about getting things done. Drove out to Shadowlake and unloaded all the stuff we'd just gone to such pains to load, which took 'til just before one. Then the two of them headed for Roanoke to toss cblack's cats on an airplane headed for Calif, and the three of us, after some discussion, went to Macado's, on the grounds that it was faster than pizza.
Called Shawn from Macados, and he andndkid joined us for lunch. Then back to the townhouse, where we loaded up the desk-in-pieces, the last of the boxes, some misc furniture, and the Bed Of Doom [which was way less of a hassle to get out than it was to get in]. Got to Shadowlake and discovered that due to the %&$ dog gate at the top of the stairs the bed couldn't easily be put up there. Whereupon I said "Screw it" and left it [and the desk-in-pieces] on the main floor, in the mostly-disused study. Offloaded the rest of the stuff, and that was that. One of the easier moves I've ever done, though it wasn't a 'real' move; didn't have to arrange furniture, mostly.
After that I went to Game Day. Played two Games of Thrones, and discovered that there are some problems in the four-player version as well as the five-player. *sigh* Here's hoping the expansion in June makes it all better. Also played a good game of Adel. Then came home and crashed, and today I really ought to unpack movies & music & such but it's blah outside and I'm beat and I've got homework toavoid finish.
