Mixed, like pancake batter
Dec. 23rd, 2003 04:38 pmPartly this is just an excuse to show off George. That's about how I'm feeling, though without the huge smile: a bit dazed. About to head up to NoVA for several days for Xmas, still fighting the sinus infection (though I think I'm finally winning).
Mrs Van Antwerp died yesterday at around three. She's only the second person I've known well that's died. I'm not too sure how I'm reacting. I was in kind of bad shape last night after I got off the phone with my parents (I called them, and specifically asked after Mrs V, otherwise they would've told me when I got in today), but I'm doing alright now. So it goes. One of these days, when I'm not trying to rush out the door, I'll get around to codifying my thoughts on death and such.
And away I go, for yet another fun-filled holiday.

The secret of comedy.
Date: 2003-12-23 07:55 pm (UTC)There's an outside chance I may be back up this way around the New Year, but that's all very nebulous, relying on (among other things) my car not falling apart on the way back on Satyrday.
