Voodoo set free in Haiti: "The government of Haiti has recognised Voodoo as a religion."

Also, on Short Attention Span Theatre (from [livejournal.com profile] skreidle via various people):

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
-- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
-- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

Watched The Sting last night. (1973, like I thought.) Excellent movie. It's not deep cinema, but it's a lot of fun and has a few good twists. Well written, spectacularly acted.
Other than that, life goes on.

Looked for the second quote. All the links were to left-leaning sites. The most popular being democratic underground. Another called "Nazis and Newsies." Never Trust a Monkey. Make Them Accountable, etc.

Apparently one of the sites linked to a Bush speech and no where in the article was the above mentioned.

Now then. I can say that my first concern is to find a murderer and then six months later notice someone standing in front of me threatening my life and who is known to support the first murderer. Do I ignore him because I need to pay attention to the first one because I said so? Oh sorry Mr. Saddam, you broke the rules and financed al Qaeda and we know it, but I will let you keep on keeping on because I have to get this other guy first.

But hey! He is Bush and is obviously a moron to everyone who is oh so much smarter and speaks oh so much better. Too damn bad they didn't run for president. I would love to have an academic scholar and someone who speaks well and who has been in politics all their life and never held a real job run the country.

Hit hot button with me! I will calm down now.
