Before I forget (again): Wednesday. Tramped around Pandapas pond with K. Very cool. Much fun. Should do again sometime.
Now, on with the show.
Friday went over to get set up early. Got setup. The back bit of the Fest Halle was reserved for board games. Decent space. Met K's friend Nick/Nimic. Did dinner at IHOP. Played a couple games. Yeah. Friday was slow.
Satyrday was hectic. Breakfast for everyone (monkeybread!) and Teckla outfits. Got over to Tcon by eleven, hit the dealers' room and wandered a bit, then went up to Fest Halle to run the Kill Dr Lucky 'tournament.' Went okay. Put too many people (seven) in one game. Oops.
Afterwards I went and met Mr Steven Karl Zoltan Brust and got four books signed (hardbacks of Phoenix Guards, Agyar (candidate for Best Book Ever), The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars, plus a first printing of Jhereg) plus the Gypsy CD. Then back up to Fest Halle to run a Settlers of Catan tournament. Eight players, each played two games limited to an hour fifteen minutes. Went alright. Missed 'An Hour With Steven Brust' for which I'm still kicking myself. Went to a panel on 'How Not to Take Your Writing Seriously' with Steve and a couple other people, who all basically agreed that you have to take your writing seriously. Warren Lapine (editor of Weird Tales) showed up about halfway through, which was cool. After that ... I worked Registration for an hour and then stupidly went to play BattleTech instead of sitting in the bar with Steve and Warren. Still kicking myself for that one, too.
Sunday... eh. Made well over $150 at the White Elephant auction and bought a knife made from a railroad spike at the Art Show. Very cool. Then hung out for awhile and listened to Warren talk, then went to postCon banquet at India Garden. Good stuff. Then hung out with E&K for an hour, hour and a half. Then came home to sleep.

Remember that tree, that I swore I knew what it was ...but couldn't remember the name?
It's a cucumber tree...I knew it was an odd name that made no sense what-so-ever.

Yeah. That sounds about right.
