You know what pisses me off? People who can't be bothered to say who they are when you answer the phone and assume that I'll be able to recognize them from their voices.
This is even better when the caller doesn't say "Can I talk to Neil?" and just starts going on about dinner plans and I'm standing there thinking "Who are you and why do I want to have dinner with you?"

On a lighter note I finished Ender's Game again this afternoon. It's still really, really good. So I'm rereading Speaker for the Dead for class, and it's also really, really good, and it's going to take actual effort for me not to start rereading Xenocide and Children of the Mind despite knowing deep in my heart that they both sucked a lot. Luckily, I have Dune books 2 and 3 to take my mind off them. Plus Dictionary of the Khazars for class.

Finished Soul Reaver 2 last week. A bit short, and not as cool as the original. Good plot, well-voice-acted (they got Rene Auberjonois to do Janos Audron), and, as Zarf said, one genuinely "oh-my-god" moment of plot towards the end relating to events in Blood Omen. ("Call your dogs-- they can feast on your corpses!") I eagerly await the third installment in a year or so.

i read the whole dune series, as well as the first two prequels (i've got house corrino waiting to be read), but the only one from the original series i enjoyed was the first one. heretics of dune was good, but having to suffer through the three books in between just wasn't worth it, imo. as for mr. card, i've never read speaker for the dead or the follow-ons to that, but ender's shadow is really, really good, and i've got shadow of the hegemon (continuation of bean's story) in my shelf, unopened.

i'm still fighting my way through rober jordan's the wheel of time series....

I'm reading Dune now. Finally. What the hell took me so long?

Yeah. That sounds about right.
