Jun. 15th, 2002 10:12 pmyeah, so right now i'm putting off working on my Twelfth Night paper, because i'm uninspired. i mean, i've got ideas (character study of Olivia vs Viola, and how they're basically complementary characters, like Kate and Bianca or Beatrice and Hero) but i'm not convinced i can get to ten pages on it.
i have Heathen, the new bowie album. i've listened to it a few times now. it's better than 'hours...' but not as good as Earthling, i think. on the whole, enjoyable.
saw The Bourne Identity last night. pretty good stuff. clive owen is very cool, and franka potente isn't bad either. and the ending twist was unexpected enough to be cool.
also saw Heist the night before. less good stuff. there was a PLOT TWIST, and then there was a PLOT TWIST, and then there was another PLOT TWIST, and then they got predictable, to the point that i was able to tell what the last three would be before they happened. the acting was so-so, and the script likewise. oh well.
the alarm upstairs went off this morning and yesterday morning, for two bloody hours. and i forgot to complain to the office bimbos yesterday, so it'll probably go off tomorrow morning too. yay fun.
jeez, i'm tired. no good reason for it, either.

Date: 2002-06-16 11:31 am (UTC)yeah, i saw it, too. i believe the comment after it was over was, "okay....who want to be a spook?" and we all raised our hands.
yeah, that twist at the end was really neat. i'm reading the book right now, so i'll be kind of interested to see how much the modernized/altered the story from the book to the movie (in the book, it's a piece of microfiche, and not a small laser, embedded in his hip).

Date: 2002-06-16 07:22 pm (UTC)there's something about a (nonexistent?) character named Carlos in the book who didn't make it to the movie. the one review i read said that the first third of the movie was similar, and then it veered off.
