I am ... *counts pages* not quite halfway through _A Game of Thrones_. This is some of the best fantasy I've read in ages. (you listening, joanna?)
They're brutal, though. In the nine-page prologue, you're introduced to three characters. One of them is cut down, ...something... happens to one of them, and you discover the fate of the third in the first 'real' section of the book. Harsh.
Page 75 ("The things I do for love" for those of you without the SFBC edition): This is *so* not good.
Page 140 ("That would be a fine trick, without a wolf."): He can't. He just *can't*.
Page 141: He did. And then the Hound showed up... mein Gott.
Winter is coming, indeed.

After being kept up yet again by whichever idiot in the complex has their bass-boosted stereo next to the wall between the apartments, we spent an hour or so swapping the places of the bed and the dressers. Yay fun... and there's no guarantee it'll help, either.

The problem with keeping an electronic journal is that I keep thinking of things I want to write while I'm failing to get to sleep, and the computer's off. Maybe it won't be such a big deal once the computer's in another room.

who's it by?

and i solve that problem by keeping my computer on, and at the foot of my bed. :) it does kind of cause problems with sleeping, though.

Sorry about that, heehee. I was feeling a little like dave chubb when I built that sucker. It'll never overheat though.
