_fellowship of the ring_ was quite good. not perfect, not the best movie i've ever seen, but certainly one of the best fantasy movies i've seen. beat out _dungeons and dragons_ by a long shot.
the good: christopher lee as saruman. he's got the voice, and he's just _so_ cool.
the bad: they gave liv tyler lines, and had the entire fellowship know that frodo was leaving and _let_ him leave at the end.
the ugly: lothlorien. also, it was kind of creepy hearing lucifer's voice coming out of aragorn's mouth.

spiel was cool. played the LOTR boardgame, got trounced harshly.

my contacts _still_ aren't in yet. they may be there by late this afternoon, or they _may_ be there by tomorrow. i will never be using this optometrist again.

gah. tired. want vacation. soon.

also, the merlin coupe (from the people who brought you the sparrow) looks very cool. should i have the money free in six months or so, i may put a deposit down on one.
