i have a torc. it's very very cool. and it HINGES at the back, which makes it extremely non-period, but also extremely non-strangling to put on.
had a very pleasant dinner with lisa & vond at Zeppoli's, the remnants of which will become lunch in about an hour and a half.
life is pretty good.

um. torc (also torq, never tork). celtic neck thing. worn by kings and chieftains and such.

the torc hinges? doesn't that detract from the appearance? (epsecially from the back, and, if i remember, your hair isn't long enough to cover it?)

it probably would if you didn't have sufficient hair to hide it. luckily i do. :) just means i can't put it up in a braid or ponytail when i wear the torc.
(you hadn't noticed? i started growing my hair out in spring of '96... dry, it's around the middle of my back. and while it's a little thin, there's enough of it to hide the hinge.)
