I'm glad you got to see it. Where I was, things were cloudy in the early morning, then clearing up a bit in the late morning...and then an hour before totality the clouds rolled in again. A great disappointment.

I used the same analogy. My brother who lives in Portland didn't bother to drive an hour for the 2017 eclipse because -- despite my telling him otherwise -- he thought that 99% was good enough. He later admitted he'd been wrong.
