so... From Hell was pretty darn good. Not nearly as gory as I'd been afraid. They wimped out a little on the ending, but not nearly as much as they could have, and they didn't follow 'jack' as much as the book did, so we didn't get as much of his side. Ian Holm will make an excellent Bilbo.

had dinner at the Home Place for lisa(neil)'s birthday. basically, you sit down and they start bringing you good southern food, and don't stop until you tell them to. quite good. i am very very full, two hours later.
