My general sense of myself in re 4x10s (or 9x9s with one day off every two weeks) is that I have enough trouble staying functional for an eight-hour day, and expanding that is going to make matters worse. If I end up stuck here longterm, though, I might ask to switch to that schedule.

(The wisest thing I ever heard in support of 4x10s came from a Federal worker of my acquaintance: "When I worked eight-hour days people were always asking me to stay late to help with something. Nobody asks you to stay late when you're working ten-hour days.")
