jazzfishFriday night I did some alpha-testing on a game I came up with sometime earlier this week, with Jay and Nathan. Went pretty well. It wants some more banging-on, but I think there's a good game in there.
Yesterday Emily and I went to the NC renfaire with Dave, Kayla, Shawn and His Women, and Pooka. Good to see Pooka again. The NC faire is very dusty. It's much younger than Maryland. The people working are more into their jobs, and prices are much, much better (drinks are $1.50/$2.50 for a small or large; and there was a _nice_ sterling torc for $120. and cavalier hats were all under $100. very very tempting. probably next year.)
There was also a booth selling pendants cut from coins... they took a coin and cut out all the boring bits, leaving the raised design cut away. Very cool. I picked up a farthing (pre-decimal British coin; worth 1/4 of a penny).
