Old-school LJ-type!
1. Are you an Essential Worker?
I don't think so, but I'm working remotely so the question hasn’t come up.
1a. Are you in a vulnerable category?
Apparently CPAP users are considered "high-risk," so yes?
2. How many drinks have you had since the quarantine started?
Um. I think I had a sip of whatever Erin was having at each of the Wild Gods Happy Hours we were both at.
3. If you have kids... Are they driving you nuts?
No kids; all my sympathy to those who do.
4. What new hobby have you taken up during this?
None. I'm baking but that started with the turn of the year.
5. How many grocery runs have you done?
I'm averaging about one a week, or a little less.
6. What are you spending your stimulus check on?
I don't think I get one? US citizen but not a US resident.
7. Do you have any special occasions that you will miss during this quarantine?
Ha. Already missed Terminal City Tabletop Convention, currently missing the Gathering, and next month I'll miss Beach Week with my DC-area gamers which I was set to go to for the first time since 2016. More significantly, of course, I've missed both my every-six-months visit/date with djinn and my not-on-a-schedule-yet-but-every-six-months-seemed-likely visit/date with Sarah.
Monthly trips to Vancouver aren't really Special Occasions as such, but those are shot as well.
8. Are you keeping your housework done?
I am! Mostly because this isn't really so different from normal life, and if I don't stay on top of household things then a) it's a sign that I am Not Doing Well and b) it pushes me further into Not Doing Well.
9a. What movie/show have you watched during this quarantine?
Finished The Mandalorian and Kipo, for which see previous. Started watching Penny Dreadful with Erin; finally getting into Counterpart S2 on my own. Occasionally dabbling in Steven Universe which has yet to hook me. Currently watching A Simple Favor, a thriller from a couple years ago.
9b. What books have you read?
Recently: graphic novels and rereads, because focusing on something new is Hard.
9c. What video games are you playing?
None really. Through the Ages games with various and sundry folks, Honeycomb Hotel when I need a five-minute brain break, occasionally Imbroglio. ...and my source for potentially-interesting iOS games just shut down. Bleh.
10. What are you streaming with?
As I keep saying to people complaining about how they can’t find show X: I'm not saying BitTorrent is still a thing, but I am implying it.
11. 9 months from now is there any chance of you having a baby?
Infinitesimal. Though vague plans to get snipped are of course on indefinite hold.
12. What's your go-to quarantine meal?
Um. Cereal? I guess I've made cinnamon rolls more often than usual (twice, or maybe three times).
13. Is this whole situation making you paranoid?
Stealing from
siderea:
I was gonna say "no" but it blipped out yesterday. Grr.
15. What month do you predict this all ends?
AHAHAHAHA "end".
16. First thing you're gonna do when you get off quarantine?
Probably book a flight back east.
17. Where do you wish you were right now?
You know, I don't really wish I were anywhere else. The things I miss about Vancouver are all social or social-adjacent things, the grocery stores here stay relatively well-stocked, the weather's decent, and Erin's here so I get frequent human contact.
18. What free-from-quarantine activity are you missing the most?
Travel, hands-down.
19. Have you run out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
I have just as much hand sanitizer as I did before. I bought a big batch of toilet paper in I think January, maybe earlier? and haven’t been in any danger of running out.
19a. Have you run out of anything else?
I was out of milk and of cereal briefly (at different times, hilariously enough).
20. Do you have enough food to last a month?
Food as such, definitely, though by week three if not before I'd be down to mostly carbs.
21. Has anything major happened in your life during the lockdown?
Only tangentially. Erin's new boy is of course setting off various triggers that I either didn't know I had, or didn't expect to still be that severe.
22. What are you grateful for?
My job, as much as I complain about it the last couple of months. Erin. My people, and by extension the internet.
23. Is there anything you'll miss about lockdown life?
Can't say as there is. The things people see as positives are either not available to me (what extra free time?) or are more or less my pre-quarantine life.

No, see: paranoia is when you irrationally and a priori believe that there are beings with agency (such as your fellow humans, social organizations, or supposed extraterrestrial or supernatural beings such as aliens, gods, demons, and spirits) are behaving malevolently towards you _personally_ (or your loved ones), and are largely or entirely unresponsive to counterevidence or reason.14. Has your internet gone out on you during this time?
1) It's not paranoia if it's about inanimate things, such as natural disasters like pandemics, unless you attribute them to animate things. (I mean, you could, I suppose, develop the belief the viruses have agency.)
2) It's not paranoia if you don't think the bad thing is personally aimed at you.
3) It's not paranoia if it's a conclusion you have come to through evaluating evidence and reasoning about it (even if your evidence sucks and your reasoning is lousy) so long as its responsive to further evidence and reasoning.

Date: 2020-04-16 03:53 am (UTC)I am also watching Steven Universe, on a strict "only allowed to watch it with one of the boyfs, which means it's going very slow unless he visits and then we charge through a great many episodes.
I'd say try and get at least to the end of season one, and if it's still not hooking you, it might not be for you --Austin's mentioned a couple times on his rewatch that the early eps are weaker.

Date: 2020-04-16 04:37 am (UTC)I'm ... halfway? through Steven Universe S1 and my response so far is mostly "this is cute but i do not understand why it is the internet's favourite thing." I don't object to it, though. So I keep watching it when I need a half-hour increment, and I assume that some overarching plot and character will start to break through sometime in the next few hours.
I dislike on principle "keep watching, it gets so much better!" despite being somewhat guilty of it myself. Like... no thank you, life's too short to watch 8 hours of backstory so I can understand how awesome the next 20 hours are.
(Avatar S1 is merely good; the season finale is great, but then the first few episodes of S2 are back to "good." It's only once Toph shows up that it becomes consistently great. Slings and Arrows is merely good for the first episode and a half, because that's how long it takes them to maneuver Geoffrey into place with everyone else. Leverage S1 is good but notably weaker characterization-wise than S2-4; I have yet to get around to watching S5, as Emily and I were about to start it when we split up.)
