The time when I knew you ('91-92), freshman year, I was about as happy and well-adjusted as I'd get at Jefferson. I'd just transferred in from a terrible experience at a terrible North Carolina junior high. Finding people like me was this amazing freedom. So, thank you, but I don't think there was anything to be done, certainly not at that point.

(In retrospect, some amount of my junior year difficulties stemmed from having a bunch of friends who were two years older than me, who'd all suddenly vanished. I wouldn't trade that necessarily, but I do wish I'd done things a little differently. Possibly up to and including being born a year or two earlier. Water over the bridge.)
