I've had a new chair at work for about two weeks now. The desks at work supposedly go up and down so they can double as standing desks, only mine doesn't go up high enough to be a comfortable height for standing. I could get risers for it, but then it won't go down low enough to trade off sitting & standing. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I finally got a tall chair and a set of risers for the desk, so I've been a stand-up guy off and on. It's good: standing up means I move around more often and don't get quite so stiff.

I've had this chair for less than two weeks, *at work*, and it's already got cat hair on it.

I'd be interested in your post on Transistor. I've only briefly glanced at it, not having been a great fan of Bastion, but I'd love to know your opinion on it.

And I had to giggle at the chair thing - when I had my horse, everything had horse hair on it. Whether I wore my good clothes or not.

Short version: I love the aesthetic but some gameplay choices mean we don't get to see as much of it as I'd like, and the narrative and worldbuilding are A Mess. (The gameplay is what it is, that being "tactical combat interspersed with 'keep-away' moments," and it's very good at being that.) Longer version to come at some point!

But then I *really* liked Bastion, in all aspects except gameplay, and I enjoyed the gameplay sufficiently that I've played through it several times just for the aesthetic and the music and the voiceovers.

I miss my standing desk a bit. It does help with posture and such, for me, a lot! I was a bit surprised. Also, yes, I'm not even in the same country as my bunny right now and everything is still coated in her fur. Pets!

I am genuinely unsure what a standing desk does for/to my posture, but my posture is terrible enough by default that it can't hurt! I used one for the threeish years I was working from home; when we moved to this apartment and I got laid off, the room we'd designated as Office turned out to have some problems and I did a lot more laptop-on-couch than previously.

I am hugely in favour of this proposition! My schedule disagrees. The forty-hour work week is stupid and awful. (You know, in case there was any question.)

I'd like to hear why you think transistor doesn't work narratively, I really found the narrative to be solid, so another opinion would be nice to hear.

Are standing desks as big as regular desks? I've never actually seen one.

Depends entirely on the standing desk. My "normal" one at home (which I used for the three years I was working from home, and occasionally since) is a normal Ikea desk (FREDRIK, I think) that's big enough to fit two monitors. I'd assume you can get them in a more normal size, too. I am a big fan of standing desks.
