one year on

As of today I've been unemployed for a year.
I'm less unhappy than I was when I was employed. That... I think that's the only thing I have to show for it, that and one completed story and the beginnings of a novel. And the beginnings of what might eventually be "music" on the viola.
It's not about accomplishing anything. It's about rebuilding reserves. It's about no longer feeling crushed. It's about being able to find joy in more than just rare flashes.
Still hard to shake the sense that I've wasted the year.
It doesn't help that I'm less than a month away from the end of my 101 in 1001 project. I have thoughts on that as well but they can wait until late September.
101 in 1001 update (the list)
Completed:
26) See a Shakespeare play. 2015-07-21, King Lear, at Bard on the Beach with Zee.
34) Expand, revise, & submit "In the City of Memory." 2015-02-19
57) Go running or swimming three times a week for three months. Consecutive, though with some week-to-week carryover. 2015-02-28
75) Add my mass-market paperbacks to LibraryThing. 2015-07-09, and thanks to
uilos for calling out ISBNs.
78) Stay under budget on discretionary purchases for six months. 2015-06-01
85) Sort out my relationship to my parents, sister, & niephlings. 2015-07-10
In progress:
31) Submit 100 stories to paying markets. (17/100) Amazing how much easier this is when you have a story worth submitting.
90) Read or purge everything currently on the To Be Read shelf. (16/25) Read The Shadowed Sun by NK Jemisin.
92) Reread the oeuvre of John M. Ford. (9/13) Reread The Scholars of Night and Heat Of Fusion, read How Much For Just the Planet?, reread Growing Up Weightless.
Abandoned:
20) Go to NorWesCon. Last year would have been good but last year I lacked the cope. Oh well.
51) Run a Walpurgisnacht one-shot. Player illness/exhaustion cancelled this one.
58) Go running or swimming three times a week for six months. Out of time.
