I dunno. It's been a couple of weeks, more or less, and I'm not feeling particularly inspired. Work, gaming, counselor appointments, running. Life, you know? I still feel ... not stuck, but stalled.

Way back in spring I threw money at Con Or Bust in exchange for custom-printed business cards. I finally got around to providing a design for those last week, and will be picking them up at Readercon I hope. Since I included a URL on the cards I went ahead and registered wordsareinadequate.com and pointed it to my Dreamwidth profile page. I'll do something more real with it eventually. Possibly once I start writing again.

Around Father's Day I realised that it's now been as long since Pop Shackelford's death (11/2005) as it was from Gram's (04/1998) to Pop's. It felt like a lifetime between Gram & Pop, and it still feels like Pop only died maybe a couple of years ago. Course, from 1998 to 2005 I was in kind of a state of flux, and with notably rare exceptions 2005-present have been remarkably stable. Time is weird, is all I'm saying.

O yes, Readercon. I found a flight for sufficiently cheap that I'm willing to pay for it, so I'll be in Boston (well, Burlington) come mid-July. I think it'll be good for me. I'm looking forward to seeing people, and being immersed in genre, and traveling in general.

101 in 1001 update (the list)

Completed:

12) Visit Steph and Ryan in Minneapolis. 2013-05-27
13) Visit Ed. 2013-05-12
16) Have another of those long conversations with Jenn P. 2013-05-14, though that's no reason not to have another.
21) Go to a [REDACTED]. 2013-06-20
46) Play in a Netrunner tournament. 2013-06-08, tied for third out of 32.
86) Write that one thing I think about writing once a week or so. 2013-04-28. Solves nothing, but at least my thoughts are in one place.

In progress:
31) Submit 100 stories to paying markets. (2/100)
47) Play or purge all the unplayed boardgames in my collection, except for Italia. (7/13) Sold Iliad in the auction.
56) Go running or swimming three times a week for a month. Kept to twice a week on vacation, which is something, but not 'three times a week' something. Still, worth noting. June is going well so far.
70) Dispose of unwanted comics. Catalogued.
71) Dispose of unwanted games. The auction took care of about a third of them.
72) Deliver unwanted RPGs to a good home. The auction took care of everything except the Feng Shui books, and I don't know what I'm going to do with those. Try again later, I guess.
73) Purge the dresser and the clothes closet. About half the dresser's done.
82) Determine whether it makes any sense at all to a) buy a place or b) move. After some number crunching I can say that it makes a great deal of sense to move if we can find a place we're happy with the layout and relative location of, since rent is guaranteed to be lower outside of the downtown core. Layout requires walls for bookcases, and location requires proximity to groceries and Skytrain.
87) Resolve the situation around [REDACTED]. Being discussed, at least.
95) Get myself some sort of author website. Registered a domain name.
99) Give blood four times in a year. (2/4) And eligible again next week.
