yeah, we tip 20% and round up, and for run-of-the-mill bad service we tip 15%, rounding down if it was worse than run-of-the-mill bad -- because we know that in most US states, your salary is minimum wage adjusted for the assumption that you are going to get a 15% tip, and you still have to share that tip.

it's stupid and its terrible, but you just have to adjust that into you the prices at any service-based restaurant. They shouldn't be allowed to pay lower minimum wage to people just because they assume tipping, but they are and they do, and the rest of us have to suck it up and be decent human beings.
