And now at last I'm home, after a wild couple of days in Boston staying up too late with sorcyress (plus the Science! Museum), picking apples with jadelennox et al (note to self: stalk add various other apple-picking / pie-making people), hanging out with prog and cthulhia and Zarf, and generally having a fantastic time.

The whole "being home" thing hasn't sunk in. It probably will by tomorrow morning, when I have to wake up and deal with a zillion work emails and things that broke while I was gone, and then go back to patiently trying to find/make a social circle here. For now I'm still kind of floating in a headspace where the only thing I have to do is By God Keep Writing, and the only people I meet are brilliant and witty and friendly.

Eh. This week I recover, pay off my sleep debt, and gather my VP thoughts. Next week I try another writing group and get started taking apart the %&$ space story so I can rebuild it, make it stronger, faster, more likely to sell.

I gave up on in-person writing groups. There weren't any in my area that were more helpful than frustrating. Online attempts stumbled at first, but I eventually found a good handful I've now known for about ten years.

Use VPXV, if you feel comfortable with that. I imagine there will be bunches of critiques flying around the group fairly soon. :-)
