Well, for me the right just feels natural. I stuck it there when I got my first widescreen Mac and never looked back. It's possible that that's because I'm right-handed, but...

The real reason that Mac people in general would probably say that the Dock belongs on the right is because that's where it was in NeXTSTEP, which OS X is descended from. I've actually had the dubious pleasure of using NeXTSTEP, so it could be that I remembered that and picked the right side because that's where it "should be".
