I marked autumn as starting the last weekend of August. Yeah, it was still hot and humid, but it just _felt_ like autumn. I don't know how to describe it any better than that.

On an almost totally unrelated note, I find it odd that the solstices/equinoctes are considered the first day of the season rather than the middle. The summer solstice is called "midsummer", yes? So autumn really would start in early August (Lammas).
