My email provider has been hungry lately. For patches of an hour or so over the last two or three days all mail to me goes curiously missing. A Missing Email Report has been filed but the police can do nothing. It's getting on time to take matters into my own hands. (Cue dramatic music.)

Here, have some links from the past month or so.

Grammar, from [livejournal.com profile] merseine0613.

John Kerry, funnyman: "Q: On what types of products do you never go cheap, for the sake of quality? A: Ketchup." (via [livejournal.com profile] adamcadre)

I LEGO N.Y., from Making Light.

ML also gives us Peanuts Watchmen.

Speaking of Watchmen, there's Saturday Morning Watchmen. It's been a very long time since I've seen that much sheer wrong packed into one minute thirty.

Terror: The Director's Cut: "Black is an identifiable thing. What I faded into wasn't identifiable, because identity of anything had gone away. It's impossible to describe what I 'faded' into, but I'm going to try my best." (via [livejournal.com profile] salzara_tirwen)

And I leave for OMG Vancouver in two days. My knowledge of Canadian telecom suggests that net access will be Spotty At Best. I /think/ the hotel we got has wireless. . .

Suggestions of things to do or not do are welcome.

If by e-mail provider you mean softhome, they ate a message I attempted to send there with a misconfigured greylisting setup. You might wish to specify that when you poke them.

Tea shops and Coffee shops in Vancouver are nice places to grab breakfast.

Other places in town, there is an awesome gameshop in the "Gastown" section of town. Right off Water street. Near where the Steamclock is.

Granville Island public market is fun too.

Or if your feeling outdoorsish, Stanley Park is a nice trip and easy access from the mass transit there. The Lions Gate bridge is part of the park.

Speaking of Lions Gate, I didn't get a chance while we were there, but I hear studio tours are fun.

Do you have a better source for information on Canadian telecom than userfriendly.org (I don't; I'm just curious).

Those are some impressive legos impersonations.

And someday, I should find, scan, and post somewhere the personified part of speech people I did years ago...

Huffington Post Canada Audience Numbers Jump

But the official numbers are in, and the country's newest online news source is showing double-digit traffic growth. "And with V-MODA our solid group of both media and editorial contributors in place, we will create an even bigger and better splash in 2012."

AOL and The Huffington Post joined forces in March when HuffPost founder Arianna Huffington sold her news site for $315 million, in a deal many analysts said could result in a new online news superpower.

The AOL-HuffPost merger managed to reverse a declining trend in AOL's advertising revenue, v-moda headphones best buy but that wasn't enough to keep the company from struggling with the bottom line this year. The company clocked an $11.8-million loss in the latest quarter due to an unexpected fall-off in revenue that began in late June.

AOL's Armstrong described the earnings slump as "a short-term economic bump" V-MODA on what the company sees as an otherwise smooth road towards earnings growth.
