The Plan:

Virginians, start showing up on Satyrday the second of August (hey, that's this Satyrday!) at my place around ten. Stuff, starting with bookcases and other furniture and proceeding on to a gazillion bankers' boxes, shall be hauled next door and up a flight. (I'm moving from 1647 #1 to 1649 #3.)

Marylanders and DCists (Districtese?) are welcome to pop down to my place, or up to uilos's to help her load. Normally I'd be delighted to haul people to my place from the West Falls Church metro, but after an encounter with a vicious parking pillar, Straylight will be spending the week in the body shop. The 3T bus departs the metro every hour on the hour and is about a fifteen-minute ride. Once it turns onto Anderson off of Chain Bridge / 123 and passes through one more stoplight Magarity and passes the ex-Safeway on the left, pull the cord. Get off at the next stop; I'm across the street. ETA: Or call me (phone # in contact info post) when you get aboveground, and I'll either go get you or send a minion to do so.

At some point, hopefully by noonish, uilos will call me to let me know that she and her truckload and her minions are on their way over. At this point Vocelli's will be ordered in copious quantities. Shortly thereafter will be the ritual Devouring of the Za[1]. After this we empty the truck and finish moving whatever's left in my apartment, and then collapse.

I've got a decent amount of misc Stuff that I don't feel like keeping. Show up and you're welcome to what of it you like.

To quote uilos, because what she says goes for me too: I'm looking for a headcount of how many people are going to be able to help with moving. I'm also looking for what kind of pizza you like or don't like. If you want something to drink other than water while we move, lemme know in advance and I'll see about getting some. There'll be sodas and such for lunch [but let me know if you have particular requests]. I have the apartment for another two weeks, so I'm not at all concerned getting it into returnable shape this weekend.

I swear I think about things other than moving. One of these days I may even post about some of them.

Tomorrow's D&D 4E (verdict: it feels a lot like a tabletop version of a MMO; I can't decide whether this is a bad thing, as my wizard feels kind of boring). Monday is an evening of Unpacking and Rearranging.

I'm more or less free this evening but my company will be less than sparkling, since I'm desperately trying to shove the odds and ends of my life into boxen. You're welcome to come up and hang out if you're seriously that bored, though.

I will be arriving noon-ish, or slightly later, bus/train schedules permitting. Please keep a couple of slices of veggie pizzas for me, if anyone else is getting veggies; if you can't but there's a 7-11 or something nearby, I can just deal. Strangely, I'm a Marylander but getting to your place is going to be easier, public transport requirements and my morning timing being as they are.

Um, by the way, I just checked the Metro Bus schedule for 3T from wmata.com. If you take the bus at the WFC metro, it doesn't turn into Anderson from 123, it turns into anderson from Magarity Rd. (650) and then it turns into 123 from Anderson, if I'm reading the bus map correctly. You might want to check that in the directions...

As it happens, elf has volunteered to go fetch people from the Metro if necessary. So, if it's easier (and it probably is), plan to show up at West Falls Church Metro whenever, and call me (phone # in contact info post, which is always the most recent post in this journal) when you get aboveground.

And thank you so very much for coming to help! There will definitely be veggie pizza of some variety saved for you, since Alison is vegetarian and I avoid things with hooves, which limits my pizza choices significantly.
