Jun. 6th, 2007 03:32 pmThe poll respondents have spoken. Moorenko's (intersection of Georgia and East-West Highway) at eight-thirty tonight, to be followed by The Seventh Seal at nine-twenty. I'll be leaving around quarter of eight to ensure that I have enough time to walk to Moorenko's if necessary, so if you're wanting a ride, meet me at my place before then.
rbandrews has gotten me playing Moonbase Commander again. Good times. Nothing like hearing the System7 machine intelligence voice recite "Enemy shield disabled. Let the good times roll," or DeWulf Industrial's commander growl "Keep your eye on the prize!" The gameplay holds up, too. It's kind of like a top-down version of Scorched Earth where you can shoot out buildings (tethered to your main building by power cords) in addition to weaponry. The computer players are pretty strong on offence but not so good at building an infrastructure. I'm thinking I need to get in a few games against human players. They at least can be taught to defend their cords from power spikes. Maybe sometime next week. (Okay, mostly I just want to drop an energy collector next to someone's main hub and then reclaim the hub the collector comes out of, causing a giant nuclear explosion and a "What the hell was that?")
Hard to believe Origins is in less than a month. Hard to believe that a year ago I was living in Stef and Shondra's spare room. Tempus, as Mr Michelman was once prone to say, is fugiting.
