So I got home yesterday and found two packages waiting for me.
The first one was my first edition hardback of To Reign in Hell, signed by Kathy Marschall, Steven Brust, and Roger Zelazny. So that was happy.
The second was a replacement for my video card that I'd sent back two months ago. So that was happy too.
So I tore apart my puter and put in the new card, and it had no green. Plenty of red and blue, but the green was registering as black.
Spent about an hour trying to make it work, dammit. During which time my network card started acting flaky, so I had to do tech-support-things via Emily's computer in another room, which was irritating.
Eventually I just gave up and pulled the card and got ready to send it back. Plugged in my old video card and booted up... and there's no green there either.
We are NOT amused.
So I yanked everything out of my motherboard and ordered a new one. Again.

But I'm going to ToasterCon, to spend a couple days with the Looneys (creators of Fluxx and other cool games) and all their friends. So life is good.
I keep telling myself that, so that I don't start throwing things.

Dude..

My friend Ian knows the Looneys, too! He's from Silver Spring. He's short and kind of blond-y. :) Perhaps you've seen him about....
Anyway, have fun at the con, at least. And don't let the 'puter get you down. It's just a machine.
