Today is Wednesday, February 14, the Feast of St. Valentine*.

Today in history:
On February 14, 1929, gangsters acting on orders from Al Capone gunned down six rival gang members, and an optometrist in the wrong place at the wrong time, in what became known as the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre."

Peace.

Driving in snow is kinda interesting, actually. At least when there aren't too many other people around. Makes getting to work less of a boring trip and more of a challenge.

I suppose eventually other people will get here but I've been pretty much on my own since eight.

What's really annoying is slowing down for a red light when there's no one else in sight. What's slightly less annyoing is slowing down for a red light way far back and having it turn green before you get there.

I'm not sure what it says that I've been waiting for/looking forward to this post since Monday.

------------------

In other news, I do know what it says that, on multiple occassions over the past week, I've thought to myself, "you know, if [livejournal.com profile] jazzfish was here, he'd be able to tell me why this screen sucks *and* mangle this XML file I have into this other XML file I have with a PERL script."

Unlike Dr. Tran (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuN_VWZt35g), you are *so* a macodity.

Tomorrow is better. It is Lupercalia, the Roman fertility festival.

Weirdly enough (considering I hate driving), I actually enjoy driving in the snow when there aren't many people around (since stupid people who don't know how to slow down in time are my main annoyance). The couple times I've gotten to do it, I'm always really happy with my car's handling and get a better sense of what it's going to do when... I don't know, something about that just makes me happy.

I love people driving 25 mph where it is 45 because there is ice on trees and none on the road.

However, I feel for you NOVA people because people up there can't drive in normal conditions, and snow/ice - ARG!

Yeah. That sounds about right.
