Moving / Furniture for sale
Jun. 1st, 2006 04:15 pmOn Satyrday, June 3, I'll be moving most of my stuff to an Undisclosed Location. I'll be getting started around 10ish. Anyone who wants to come help is welcome to do so; you'll get lunch, and also a chance to pick through my boxes of Stuff To Go Away, or score some great furniture.
Directions:
From 460, get off at Prices Fork Rd. Head for Downtown. Turn left at the first light (University City), then turn left at the first light again (Glade Road). Drive past an apartment complex and across 460 and take the first right (Shadowlake Road; it's something else on the left). Toodle along for a bit, past a church on the left. The road veers sharply left and then right. When it veers right, go straight instead. This will put you on either Sage or Ginger Lane (I can never remember which). Go up the hill and turn right. Park anywhere on the right. Walk up the gravel path behind you that runs between a couple of houses, and cross the asphalt walkway. Mine is in the duplex in front of you with the cool screened-in porch; my house is the one without the porch. Come on in.
Due to Poor Timing in truck reservation, most of the boxes will be moved in cars. This may necessitate several trips, and also cursing.
I'm tired of hauling it around, and I plan on getting matching bookcases eventually. Thus, take it away!
I should be available tonight and tomorrow evening to show off pieces; they'll be ready for takeaway on Saturday. (Which, incidentally, is also moving day; anyone who wants to trade box-hauling labor for furniture is welcome to make an offer in that regard.)
I can probably be convinced to deliver this weekend; after that you're likely on your own.
All prices are "or best offer."
Three pine bookcases. Spoken for.
$15 apiece, or all three for $40.
Six feet tall, five shelves. There's the start of a split at the base of one, and one shelf on another is vaguely threatening to go. They'd make fine bookcases for a basement or rec room.
Long dark-stained bookcase. Spoken for.
$15
Six feet long, three(?) feet high. Three shelves, each divided lengthwise. A bit scuffed, but sturdy. Great for under a bar.
Maple dresser with mirror. Spoken for, but she'll yield to someone else who wants it.
$25
Three-drawer dresser. The bottom drawer is held together by wishes and contact paper; someone with woodworking know-how could probably replace the bottom and have it be okay. The previous owner painted the whole thing black, and even deep sanding and restaining couldn't get all the marks out.
Mini-fridge, black.
$35. Works great. The 'freezer' has a tendency to accumulate glaciers.
Dark-stained square coffee table-ish thing.
$10, or $5 with fridge.
Just the right size to stand the fridge on. Has two doors on the front; one is loose and will require some effort to fix properly, but still functions.
Large corner computer desk.
$0 (yep, if you want it it's yours)
I'm not kidding about 'large.' Keyboard tray, 45"-long desktop, space for a printer or two and the computer itself in the under-desk cubbies. Will probably survive /one/ more move.
