Stuff at PCLand was decreed to be Too Expensive. Hit up newegg.com for mobo + processor (+ memory, as it turned out) instead. Doubled my previous processor speed and amount of RAM, and got onboard ethernet and sound into the bargain. Plugged it all in, got the power switch connector oriented properly . . . and spent the next half hour digging up drivers, since new motherboard == Windows saying "Hey, what the heck is all this new junk you just installed?" Video card, network card, various things that blipped past too fast to see what they were . . . funfun.

But everything seems to be back to (or better than) normal now. So, sleep.

I /am/ feeling the urge to get a better monitor, though. The screen adjustors on this one are broken. Good thing I like 1024x768; any other resolution is squished horizontally or squashed vertically. Or both.

I would reccomend a wipe and reload at some point if you can take the time. I can loan you my external 80GB HDD to backup your system onto if you want.
