May. 9th, 2005 02:53 pmHugo Weaving as V. Hrm. V For Vendetta is (damning with faint praise) probably Moore's most filmable work. And I don't doubt that Weaving can pull this off. On the minus side, it's in the hands of the Wachowski brothers, and I just can't see Natalie Portman as Evey Hammond.

(If they butcher Watchmen I am going to be pissed. Or if someone thinks Promethea would be good as a movie, which thankfully is unlikely to EVER happen)

. . . aha. Uncle Google sez he gave up on Hollywood after a screenwriter sued him for plagiarising his (the writer's) ideas for the League movie, ignoring the fact that the movie was based on a four-year-old comic. I think the V deal [and one involving Watchmen as well] had been struck prior to that, though.
