Game Day was pretty cool. Finally got to play Saga, the last of my Origins acquisitions. It's neat, and easily worth the $7. Also played a lot of Sleuth [going to need more record sheets pretty soon] and Samurai, and Alhambra [sort of a tile-laying game crossed with a stock-market game, in which you get to do the Exact Change Dance], and Fire & Ice [two-player abstract strategy game: neat, but, well, there's go, beside which all other two-player abstract perfect-information games pale]. Also acquired a ceiling fan so that I'll no longer be bloody roasting in here.

I was thinking about trying to generate a sheet to use for Sleuth that would have ready made on it the things necessary to neatly/easily do (well, at least the charts and stuff would be neat :) both Mark's system (which, of the systems I've seen people use, has the advantage, IMHO, of being easy to see the potential logical deductions) and my system (which is similar to yours, and one of the main advantages it has over Mark's is the potential for error recovery/rollback, double checking, etc). Although if you can just cheaply obtain additional pads from the manufacturers, or a pdf of the sheet provided, I think I'd rather not bother, since it would sort of dictate how to set up your sheet, and I think the different systems people come up with are interesting to see. Anyway, let me know if it might be useful for you if I worked on such a thing (also, what maximum or exact dimensions you'd like the sheet to have, if you care about that).

Oh noes! Both candidates using The Finger! What a world, what a world..

Incidentally, my ceiling fan does approximately crap for circulating air in my current bedroom. Admittedly, the vent is under the bed, and there's a lot of furniture interrupting airflow.

Really nice Tucker. Aren't you the one who always complains about others who post comments that are unsupported by facts? Gotta love the "well, if there wasn't any glare you could see him flipping me off" image. I got a hard drive full of images like that, full of things you can't see! Nice.

The FU line was out of line and it WAS news everywhere I saw. Just, well, they can't quote it.

Also, I have a hard time with the 17 year old boy's story about Bush flipping him off. But hey... what do I know?

There's really no call for personal attacks against politicians, unless they provide things like a flimsy excuse for me to do what Star Trek geeks have been doing for years, fantasize about sex with Jeri Ryan (http://archive.salon.com/mwt/feature/2004/06/26/jack_ryan/). Even Nixon swore like a sailor, which is appropriate since he served in the Navy during WWII, but weird as he was raised a West-Coast Quaker.

There are plenty of policy reasons to dislike Bush, like his highly-profile July 4th weakening of the Endangered Species Act (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A26242-2004Jul3.html), declaring the independence of endangered species from burdensome government protection.

I take these reports, true or not, as just another sign that we need to make legitimate expressios of feelings like the middle finger and the f-word legal. If they're good enough for the people who run my country, they're good enough for me!
