Cheap Books Day
Jul. 9th, 2004 11:01 amToday through Monday is Friends and Family Day at Waldenbooks. Show up and say you're one of Tucker's friends and you'll probably get 20% off your purchase. [Cumulative with the 10% Preferred Reader discount.] I'll try to remember to bring some of the postcards to Game Day, too. And for
desfido, we've got 100 Bullets #5 and 6 in.
Me? I'll be snagging Gene Wolfe's Book of the Long Sun, Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's Black Orchid, Ursula K. Le Guin's annotated Tao te Ching, and maybe some misc other stuff as well. I've been thinking about reading GK Chesterton for ages now, but all we've got by him is a so-so edition of The Man Who Was Thursday, since The Napoleon of Notting Hill hasn't come in yet.
Sleep works wonders; I find myself much less drifty and vaguely irritable this morning. Also, my new hotpot is capable of boiling water for tea in under three minutes, which rocks. Though I can't use both it and the toaster at the same time as the fridge kicks on, or else I trip a circuit breaker.
Also in the Cheap Books dept, I'm contemplating another run to Green Valley Book Fair either next weekend or the one after, and visiting NoVa for at least part of the week 19-24.
And for those of you who care about such things, a detailed examination of the pistol used in Equilibrium. [Short version: it's a heavily-modified Beretta 92.]
