A stupid day
Jan. 9th, 2004 07:54 pmMall didn't open 'til noon, so I bummed around here for an extra hour and then went in. Bought myself a day-planner (which, I just realised, I have absolutely no idea where I left, which means it's probably still at work. Stupid) and read several Zits collections, as well as the Neil Gaiman story in Legends II. Went for a walk around the vetschool pond after work, since the snow made things all pretty. Remembered that it'd been snowing the first time I went out for a walk around the vetschool pond. Stupid.
Had the left lens of my glasses pop out, but I managed to find it. An intelligent person would have turned around and gone home, but I kept on. Got a couple maybe-decent pictures out of the trip. While walking back across the field met up with a playful dog, so I started running with zir. After about three steps the lens popped out again. This time I failed to find it. Stupid. Drove home alternating between having no depth perception and no distance vision and put in my contacts. (You know, the six-week ones I've had for, oh, going on ten weeks now. Though I haven't been using them all that time.) Just got back from Sears Optical and the unpleasant discovery that Those Pig****ers do not in fact provide routine vision coverage, so glasses will be $350. With a 50% discount on frames, UV tinting, and scratch-resistant coating, and without the photogreys/transitions/whatever. Gah.
Got home and decided I wanted a pizza, so I called Papa Johns before realising I don't know my address. Stupid. Fortunately they were able to figure out where the heck I live, so I'll have chicken alfredo pizza shortly.

Date: 2004-01-11 07:27 am (UTC)I've heard nought but good things about the vision place in Wal-Mart, and I think my recently-formed opinion of Wal-Mart as Evil Incarnate would still allow me to use their vision place.
