Congratulations to GWB for capturing a man who had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks. Any chance of getting back to the 'real' threat? No? How about rebuilding the infrastructure in Afghanistan? No money in it? Just thought I'd ask.

Remember Osama? This is a war about Osama. . .

Perhaps, now that the man percieved to be the reason we went into this war is captured, we can withdraw. You would be hard-pressed to explain to me why anything that might end this war isn't a significant accomplishment.

Thank you! There far too much non-skepticism on my friends page. Seriously.

It's a bad thing. We should never have gone in in the first place. Not to sound callous or anything, but I have to care less about Iraq's infrastructure than the lives of American soldiers. We don't have a reason to be there. We never did.

I agree, it's bad to just pull out now. But a judgment call must be made; is rebuilding Iraq worth a few of our soldiers dying every day? To you, it is. To me, it is not.

The only ones who have abandoned Afghanistan are the media. Stories about bombs, shootings and riots are a lot more interesting than a family in Afghanistan getting to eat on a regular basis. If you look for the information it's there, but it's not in the news. I'm sure you'll hear about Afghanistan the next time someone dies there, but otherwise it just isn't interesting enough!

To do something like that proves that we are in fact the hypocritical self-interested weasels this administration seems to be, and that will probably kill more of "our" people in the long run. And that's even if you assume the lives saved on the other side are worth nothing. (Though if it were my life, I'd think rebuilding Iraq is more worth dying for than destroying it.) Did we pack up and leave Germany? Why not?
