coffeeem and others, janni is having a sagafic contest to celebrate the impending release of her latest book. Something about the prompt "Three shells in return for my poem" spoke to me, and this is what started coming out.
I know the structure of the thing, and I've even got the ending already written. This is more like filling in what happens: almost more like creative revising than writing.
Of course, I know the structure of "Words," the related story that I'm not yet good enough to write, too. With any luck "Three Shells" will be more "practice for the kind of writing 'Words' wants' and less "another thing I'm not good enough to write."
Goal: complete draft by the end of the weekend, and finished and posted by, mm, by the CVS meeting on the 15th.
