jazzfish: A small grey Totoro, turning around. (Totoro)
It's been a pretty bleh day, all things considered. Which is why I'm grateful to [livejournal.com profile] dorianegray for reminding me of the funniest line in number twelve, that being "Does it ever get caught on a hook half way?" I have been occasionally breaking out in giggles since about nine o'clock.

[livejournal.com profile] uilos and [livejournal.com profile] rislyn and her boy and his brother and I went out for a clamber in Great Falls on Satyrday. Gorgeous weather, lots of scrambling over the "path," plenty of mountain goating. The autumn leaves had just hit their stride, too, so plenty of color all around, and black water with reflections and very sad little persimmons and bone-white sycamores. Also the grumpiest service I've ever had, at the Olde Angler Inn, where the "Hikers welcome" sign appears to be missing an "un." Afterwards [livejournal.com profile] uilos and I came home, collapsed, and slept for ten hours, bone-weary and sadly unable to attend [livejournal.com profile] jude's gathering.

The next day we shopped for Xmas and watched Danny Kaye in _The Court Jester_ ("The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle" et cetera ad absurdum). Good times.

And because I can, questions from nixve )
