Neil Gaiman 2003-04-19: 'Holly just read that over my shoulder. "You did actually say 'Fuck I got a Nebula' you know," she said.'

Armies of Catan: "In Settlers of Catan, you get to build, villages, cities, roadways and even armies. But in one of the most glaring oversights in the history of boardgaming, you cannot attack using your armies!" (from OgreCave)

Review: Juvenile felis catus: "While domestic cats are a common feature of many computing environments, IT review sites have proven oddly unwilling to investigate this popular computer room accessory." (from [livejournal.com profile] skreidle)

Reading back over my journal entries, I occasionally come across some that are eerily prescient, although often not quite in the manner originally intended.

The moon has a face
And it shines on the lake
And causes the ripples in time
I'm lucky to be here
With someone I like
Who maketh my spirit to shine

--Warren Zevon, "Don't Let Us Get Sick" (second saddest song I know)

The Complex is a pretty good album. It's not a second iteration of Audio, which is a bit disappointing. Some of the vocal tracks feel a bit out of place on a Blue Man Group album. But "Time To Start" (in which the audience is instructed to participate in the four basic Rock Concert Movements) and "Your Attention" are bloody brilliant, and there's nothing on the album that's unlistenable. "I Feel Love" is great, as well; "White Rabbit," a bit less so. Overall, I'm happy.

I ought to work out what's going on for Changeling tonight at some point...

Update: Corbin Motors, producers of the Sparrow (electric car that looks like a rollerskate) have gone bankrupt. Dammit. I was really looking forward to the Merlin (one-person car that gets ~70 mpg).
