Mar. 21st, 2003 11:28 amSo I now have Ned Stark as a userpic. Yay me. I'm not sure what I'll use him for, though.
Games Wednesday were good, despite headache. Played Steam Tunnels (a new one from Cheapass). It's pretty cool. There's strategy that I can see after just having played it once. I hope it's deeper than that, but even if not I'll have gotten my money's worth out of it. Also played (and won) my third game of Fist of Dragonstones. It's quite cool. I'm starting to notice what to watch for if people look like they're winning. And the Sorcerer (trade four identical stones for two points) is in fact all that.
Went to work yesterday. Yay fun. Then came home, hung out at the duckpond, and went to see Adaptation, a movie about the writing of the script for the movie Adaptation. (From the people who brought you Being John Malkovich.) Laroche looks creepily like my Uncle Jim, who runs a machine shop in Helena, AR. I definitely had fun at the movie, but I'm not sure it was a *good* movie. I think it may actually have been too meta for my taste. (First time for everything.) And about a half hour from the end it suddenly veers sharply into left field. I'm glad I saw it, though.
Then a Deep and Meaningful discussion.
Today I trekked over to the Performing Arts Building to get the form necessary to add a theatre minor. (I'll actually have to make an appointment with a guy over there to get the minor to go through. Bleh.) And I figured, since I was on the third floor anyway, I might as well go out the EXIT door up there. So I opened the door, and emerged into ... a whole other world. There's a three-story tall magnolia that has grown up right next to PAB, and it shadows the metal staircase and doesn't quite block your view of campus so much as refocuses it. I came out of the door and there was TREE and campus past it... I just stood there for a minute or so. Now I really want a Theatre minor, if only so I can have an excuse to use those back steps when there's snow.
